Lutwyche’s historic pub, The Crown Hotel is officially undergoing an extreme makeover!

A multi-million dollar makeover is underway at Lutwyche’s historic pub, The Crown Hotel. The major revitalisation project will include a new beer garden and is scheduled to be revealed in Spring 2021!

The Crown Hotel was established in 1881 and, after serving the community for 140 years, it is well and truly time to undergo a reno! This renovation will preserve the pub’s heritage character, while completely revitalising the interiors to create a modern drinking & dining experience for the local Lutwyche community!

The entirely refurbished bistro will open onto a showstopping new beer garden, which will include a tiered deck and seating for 140 patrons for casual drinking & dining. The sports bar and gaming room is also getting a major renovation. The pub will launch a new food & beverage menu that offers a balance of high quality pub classics and healthy, on-trend casual dining options.

Skills and experience we need

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience as a Sous Chef or CDP.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Capable of delegating multiple tasks
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Strong leadership and effective communication skills
  • Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
  • Experience with budgeting of food costs, menu costing, and wages
  • Strong work ethic and highly motivated
  • Passion for, and a sense of pride in your work
  • Ability to direct and train your team
  • Excellent organisational skills
