About Us
At Australian Venue Co., we’re redefining the hospitality experience through creativity, technology, and community connection. Our Retail Media division helps leading alcohol brands — and soon, non-endemic brands — connect with millions of consumers across our 200+ venues nationally. We blend real-world experiences with innovative media strategies to help brands influence consumer behaviour at the point of connection.
We’re growing fast and we’re looking for a Retail Media Sales Manager to drive the next wave of growth.
Role Overview
The Retail Media Sales Manager will focus on growing non-endemic sales by identifying new opportunities, building relationships with brands and agencies, and creating compelling campaigns that come to life across our venues.
This is a hands-on sales role: you’ll be prospecting, pitching, creating sales decks, closing deals, managing campaign delivery, and driving client success — end-to-end.
If you're a natural networker, a strategic seller, and a campaign closer — this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development : Prospect, qualify, and close new non-endemic brand partnerships through direct outreach, networking, and leveraging agency contacts.
Campaign Packaging and Selling : Create and package compelling proposals and campaign concepts for major tentpole events (e.g., Australian Open, Spring Carnival) and evergreen sponsorship opportunities.
Client Relationship Management : Manage brand and agency client expectations from first pitch through campaign execution and reporting.
Campaign Management : Once a campaign is sold, traffic it internally to ensure smooth execution across creative, media, and venue operations teams.
Sales Collateral Creation : Develop sales decks, marketing materials, and consolidated campaign packages to pitch to potential clients.
Reporting and Performance : Deliver post-campaign reporting to clients, ensuring accountability and setting the stage for renewal and upsell opportunities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Achievement of individual revenue targets for non-endemic sales.
Growth of non-endemic client base and diversification of revenue streams.
Campaign delivery success rates.
Client satisfaction and repeat business rates.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business development, media sales, or partnership sales role.
Strong background in prospecting and sales hunting — comfortable generating your own leads, opening new doors, and networking at trade shows and events.
Experience working with brand marketers and media agencies.
Ability to build and present compelling sales proposals and campaign ideas.
Strong organisational skills to traffic, track, and manage campaigns post-sale.
Confident using LinkedIn, CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), and other prospecting platforms.
Solid understanding of how media businesses operate, including digital media, sponsorship, and event activations.
Personal Traits
Highly proactive self-starter — you chase opportunities and close deals.
Comfortable both selling big ideas and delivering operational detail.
Energetic, persuasive, and excellent at building and maintaining relationships.
A people-lover who’s as comfortable in a venue as in a boardroom.
Strong communication and presentation skills — phone-first, not email-first.
Able to work across teams and disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
Why Join Us
Real Growth : Shape the future of non-endemic retail media at one of Australia's fastest-growing venue networks.
Creative Control : Help define and build campaign ideas that break the mold.
Career Advancement : Be part of a high-growth division where performance is recognised and rewarded.
Culture of Action : We value initiative, agility, and results over hierarchy.
Venue Connection : Truly connect with our customers and partners by spending time in the venues you’re impacting.
