As Australia's leading, innovative pub group, Australian Venue Co. operates a diverse portfolio of iconic hotels and pubs across Australia and New Zealand.

We are currently looking for a Brand Project Manager to join the team, reporting into our Head of Brand and Communications as part of the wider Marketing team.

As a business, AVC invest in renovating and relaunching 25-30 pubs each year as part of a national brownfield project pipeline. This role will primarily focus on the research, development and execution of our brownfield projects, ensuring that these projects are successfully relaunched to the business and meet or exceed sales budget.

As part of these projects, you will play a critical role in the wider project team, ensuring data-led brand proposals are executed at a high level and that marketing and relaunch activity sets the venue up for long term success.  The focus of the brownfield project execution is to ensure the venue is successfully launched and meets or exceeds sales budget for a period of 90 days post launch. 

This role also supports on other brand team projects including PR for brownfields, onboarding and marketing of new acquisitions, beverage brand projects and other cross-department projects. 

What else will you be doing?

  • Manage the end-to-end process of allocated Brownfield projects, from research and concept development through to venue relaunch and reporting.
  • Conduct the research phase of Brownfield projects, including local area research, demographic reports, venue insights and competitor analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive brand proposals for each Brownfield, including brand vision with intended target customer, recommended scope of capital works, objectives of capital investment and visual boards to support vision.
  • Work with key project teams to deliver proposed brand concept across end-to-end Brownfield process, ensuring commercial objectives are met. 
  • A laser focus on venue sales post launch, ensuring that new tactics or strategies to improve revenue are proactively suggested and actioned efficiently
  • Develop and deliver Brownfield launch marketing plan in conjunction with Marketing and digital teams.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on post Brownfield launch sales and marketing performance, developing tactics and strategies to correct declining revenue as required
  • Lead on allocated brand projects as required including acquisitions, beverage brand projects and other cross-department projects.  Note that these projects will only be allocated when workload permits.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven expertise in developing and executing a brand strategy
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience in analysing financial, brand and market data to inform decision making and drive growth
  • Strong stakeholder relations and ability to work across multiple departments, building strong working relationships
  • Technical marketing skills with ability to develop and deliver marketing strategies in line with commercial objectives
  • Relevant hospitality industry knowledge
  • Proficiency in working with designers to develop creative assets
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross departmentally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in project management, with excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with ability to analyse and solve problems
  • Budget management

Qualifications & experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business or marketing, or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum five years’ experience in senior hospitality marketing role with experience in new brand development and scalable brands
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing a brand strategy
  • Technical marketing skills
  • Proven experience in customer insights and market research
  • Relevant hospitality industry knowledge
